Think of Emurse.com as a resume clearinghouse. You can upload or manually enter in your resume, track where it goes (if you don’t mind sending a little Big Brother-ish clear GIF along in your emails), and create a webpage for it. If you enter a Word document, it doesn’t get processed and entered in as an Emurse resume, it’s like a separate pariah of a resume that isn’t really in the system. I don’t understand what the big hoopla about this is… or it a case of another app that all the Web 2.0-ish companies out there are just pimping because it’s one of their friends?

Someone please explain why this is so wonderful.

    Beats us.. ;)

Really, it’s about helping people create their resume and maintain it over a period of time. The community that has emerged as the most passionate, are the users who for various reasons always have to have multiple resumes up to date and ready to go.

This can include people on active job hunts, consultants, students, etc.

As far as tracking the resume via a beacon, we’ll be making this optional in a later release (as well as completely overhauling that functionality on the site).

Uploading existing resumes was something that was repeatedly requested by users not looking for the templates. Typically, they have their own they enjoy very much and simply want to host it online.

The online on-the-fly file conversion, being offered completely for free, seems to be a huge plus for people.

    Best,

It would be nice if someone ended up becoming the “standard” for resumes so job seekers wouldn’t have to go through the boring entry process over.. and over.. and over. If you guys came out ahead as providing that standard, then I’d be super excited! :)
